Kliros is run by a sole proprietorship in the name of Alexandros Borousas, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. The Contact page has the business register number, the tax number, the registered address and the email address to use for anything in this notice, including the requests described below.

The answers you give in the case check, meaning facts about a death, the heirs, the property and what the cadastre shows. We need them to work out your result, and we store them so your case link keeps working. Legal basis: performance of a contract you asked for, and our legitimate interest in operating the service.

Your name, email and, if you give them, your phone, country and the property's area. We use these to send you your case link and receipt, and to introduce you to a professional if you ask us to. Legal basis: contract, and your consent for the introduction.

Payment details, if you buy something. These go straight to Stripe and we never see or store a card number. We keep the amount, the date and Stripe's reference.

Normal server logs, and counts of how far people get through the check. We don't use advertising IDs, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics scripts.

Your answers will always describe people other than you. That means the person who died, and sometimes co-heirs who have never visited this site and haven't agreed to anything. We take that seriously, and so does the law, even though they aren't our customers.

We only collect what the calculation needs, such as a year of death, a relationship, how many heirs there are and whether they'll cooperate. We never collect an ID document, medical information or bank details belonging to anyone but you. We don't contact these people. We delete all of it on the schedule below, or straight away if you ask.

You get to your case through a link containing 192 bits of randomness, not a username and password. Anyone with that link can open the case. That's the point of it, since you can forward it to a lawyer or a sibling without either of them making an account.

So treat the link like a document, not a password, and don't post it anywhere public. The page is never cached and search engines are told not to index it, but if you publish the link, you've published the case.

The one professional you ask us to match you with, and only if you ask. We don't sell data, we don't trade contact lists, and we never pass your details to more than one professional at a time.

The companies that process data for us: Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email and Stripe for payments. Each one may only process data on our instructions. We name them so you can read their terms yourself.

Nobody else, unless a Greek or EU authority compels us by law.

Cases are deleted automatically twenty-four months after the last activity on them. If you paid, we keep the amount, the date and the payment reference for as long as Greek tax law requires. That record shows what was sold and for how much. It says nothing about you, the property or the inheritance.

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, limit what we do with it, object to it, or have it deleted. The form on this page deletes it straight away and doesn't ask why. Enter your case reference or the case link and everything except the tax record is removed. We confirm by email.

You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr), or to the supervisory authority where you live if that is elsewhere in the EU.

Our processors may handle data outside the EEA. Where they do, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
